Wedding DJ Q & A's  Please Read Before Hiring a Wedding DJ

Even if you don't choose DJ's Tom and Sue (we hope you do) we want you to be an educated consumer.  Most people have never hired a wedding DJ and have no idea what they should be looking for.  We are providing the questions and considerations below so you can present them to perspective DJ's you may interview.


Will you handle announcements and maintain the structure of our reception?

Yes, Tom and Sue will proactively manage every aspect of your reception. We will make sure everything is structured precisely as we discuss during our wedding preperation meeting. You and your family will never have to worry about "who is doing what and when". 

Who will my DJ be?

Tom and Sue.  Unlike many entertainment companies we do not refer out or "send" other DJs to your event.   Beware of DJ companies who take a significant portion of the charges and send another less experienced DJ from "their list".

What is included in the cost of my reception?

Performance time, a wedding preparation meeting, itinerary correspondence, set-up time, breakdown time, travel time and expenses and all neccessary equipment. There are no "extra" or "add on" fees. All charges are documented in writing.

Are you insured?

Yes, we carry liability insurance to protect the venue, venue staff and your guests from any potential injury resulting from damage caused by our equipment

How much do you charge?

Although our prices are competitive, we need  you to provide us with a few details before we can offer a firm price quote. Please call us at (724) 830-0517 for a quote.

Do you bring a back-up system?

Yes, we take precautions to make sure there are no interruptions in the fun during your reception. Even the best equipment can fail. We always have a complete back-up system on-hand so we are prepared if there is a technical problem.

Do you offer a meeting?

Yes, Unless the bride and groom are from out of town we almost always require a face-to-face wedding meeting to discuss the details and prepare for your big day.  The meeting is structured around wedding preparation documents we provide after you have chosen DJ's Tom and Sue.  We will discuss the timeline of your reception so you know exactly what to expect as the evening progresses.

How long should our reception be?

Five hours is usually enough to cover cocktails/hors d'oeuvre's, dinner, announcements and dancing for most weddings.

Do you offer wedding packages?

No, DJ's Tom and Sue bring the same skills, preparations and equipment required to be successful at each and every wedding reception.  We do not withhold anything that is necessary to make your reception a success.  Beware of DJ's who want you to pay more for "premium audio systems".  We do offer discount pricing for casual receptions, "out of season (November-March)" receptions, and Friday/Sunday receptions. 

Can we meet with you do decide if you are the right DJ's for our reception?

Yes, we would be happy to meet with you to introduce ourselves and answer any additional questions you may have about our service and what we can offer to make your reception a success.

What do you wear to a wedding?

Tom wears a tuxedo, unless the groom is not wearing one.  Sue wears black slacks and appropriate top.

Are you able to provide the music for our ceremony?

Yes, we have a great deal of experience with all types of ceremonies.
